Single Site or Multisite Family Office

Montana Consulting - Trust Expertise , Passionately Delivered

A family office is typically structured as a Single Family Office or a Multi-Family Office and both types have different technology requirements. There are significant differences in the structure of an SFO and an MFO. Another way to look at the technology side of family offices is the physical demarcation of the family office, with some being single site and others being multi-site.

Single Site Family Office

A single site family office operates out of one location, where all systems, applications and staff are located. This makes its relatively simple to architect from a networking, security and remote access standpoint. Very often this type of family office operates inside of a UHNWI private residence, and may only have a few staff on a daily basis. Therefore, all considerations are simplified in this type of setup.

Multi-Site Family Office

Some family office setups require a multi-office setup, where some functions are handled in one office and other functions are handled in another office. We are experts at creating the networking and security environments for this type of family office. A multi-office setup has many more considerations around secured remote access and interconnectivity between offices. A multisite family office can also provide failover and redundancy opportunities in ways that a single site office cannot. We can design, implement and deliver these types of deployments with ease, and provide detailed handover documentation for the ongoing management by your team.
